Dear Parents/Guardians 2019/20 school year

On behalf of the staff of David Cameron, welcome to a brand new school year!

We are excited to get the year started, and are looking forward to working with your children.

The school will open on Tuesday September 3rd at 8:45 a.m. Returning students are expected to go to the back field where they will meet their teacher from last year and line up to enter the school.  (NOTE: New students to the school will report to the library where they will be assigned a temporary classroom.) The school day will end at 11:38 a.m. Buses will start arriving at the school soon after 11:38 to return students home. Should you have any questions about bussing, please contact the school board at 250-474-9800.

Please be patient with each other during drop-off and pick-up time. Our parking lot was designed with 100 fewer children in mind, and with so many students being driven to school, the parking lot really jams up. Hot tip of the day? For older students, arrange to pick up your child away from the school, or 10 minutes after the bell goes. Within 10 minutes of the dismissal bell the parking lot is quite manageable.

Kindergarten students will start school in small groups on Thursday September 5th. Detailed information has been sent to all parents of kindergarten students. If you are a kindergarten parent and have NOT received information, please contact the school at 250-478-7621.

Wednesday will be the first full day of school for students in grades 1 to 5. Your child’s first few days will be with their teacher from last year. We are hoping to have classes finalized and children in their new classes sometime on Thursday.

We have been working hard to make the start-up as smooth as possible and look forward to seeing everyone next week!
